      Dirt driveways during the rainy season mean mud.  Toward the end of our stay the money was donated for materials to pave the driveway.  
They only had 9 pairs of roller blades for 83 boys.  What do you do?  You share of course and 18 boys have fun   
      With over 80 boys, someone always needs new shoes.  Shoes to fit boys 10 to 13  are one of the greatest clothing shortages faced at El Hogar.
The boys are responsible for cleaning, (under supervision).  Dr. Zuniga looks after the health of the boys the 3 El Hogar projects.  In addition he works with them providing a great roll model.  

St. Mary's Institute and the Farm School accept boys that have not been through El Hogar.  Dr. Zuniga told me he can spot the El Hogar boys at these other schools by their general health, good attitude and deportment.

There were teams of senior boys from El Hogar de Amor y Esperanza, the Farm School, and St. Mary's Technical Institute.  The small 'playing field' also served as a basketball court
