- Block the calendar by holding down your left mouse button and dragging the cursor over the calendar so that it is highlighted.

- Hold down your control key while pressing the 'C' key.

- Open your word processor and place your cursor at the top of the page.

- Hold down your control key while pressing the 'V' key.  The Prayer Calendar should now be shown in your word processor.  You can now make formatting changes.  You may want to delete hard returns, extra spaces, etc. created because of the different formats used by the WEB site and your word processor.

- You may wish to save the calendar before and after making formatting changes.  

- Print in the usual manner for your system.

The SAMS PRAYER

Day 1: Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, we ask you to prosper the work of the South American Missionary Society. Give to its missionaries the fullness of the Holy Spirit, wisdom to do right, courage to persevere and a steadfast love for Your people. Give faithfulness and zeal to its members and call out more labourers for Your work that the harvest may bring glory to Your name. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

ARGENTINA and NORTHERN ARGENTINA

Day 2: Bishop Greg and Sylvia Venables in Buenos Aires praise God for enthusiasm and unity in the diocese. 'Pray for God's help, strength and wisdom to move ahead with the vision to be a church of reconciliation and open doors.' Pray too for Argentina's new government. Remember also Andy and Evangelina Lenton, thanking God for the recent confirmations in Rosario.

Day 3: Bishop Humberto and Iris Axt in Salta: pray that God would provide for both the financial and emotional needs of the diocese. Thank God for retired Wichi Bishop Mario Marino and Rosa and all that they continue to contribute to the indigenous churches.

Day 4: Andrew and Maria Leake: pray for ASOCIANA's newly formed Board of Directors as they oversee the church's social work amongst the indigenous communities. Pray too for Rafael Montana, Claudia Lungu, Annie Alvarez and Jose and Zulma Canteros as they help indigenous communities gain legal titles to their lands. Latin partners Rene and Marina Pereira: for the winter youth camp, that God would richly bless those who attended.

Day 5: Michael and Silvia Browne: praise God for the completion of the first draft of the Toba New Testament, and continue to pray for the ongoing checking and testing. Pray too for their son Kevin's health. Hugh Vergara praises God for excellent growth in Tucuman. Pray for the development of Marriage Encounter and Youth Encounter, for the planting of churches in Jujuy and Formosa and for Roberto Garcia soon to be ordained deacon in Tucuman.

Day 6: Charles and Lynn Barr Johnston: pray that the building of the church in Quemado might continue following floods. Daniel Baumgartner as he travels fortnightly with Dr. Robaldo to attend the needy with medical and prayer ministry, and for Esther holding the fort in Salta. Thank God for the flood programmes that are now up and running.

BOLIVIA

Day 7: Bishop Frank and Shawnee Lyons in Cochabamba: pray that God would provide the finance needed to buy land for La Trinidad church. Nigel and Gaby Hadley-Rowe: thank God for Nigel's music ministry, pray for a clear vision for the group and for the integration of new members into the growing Cochabamba church.

Day 8: Pepe and Amanda Zubieta in Calacoto, La Paz: continue to pray for Amanda's health and that a new pastor be found for Christ the Redeemer for 2004 when Pepe retires. Peter and Sally Bartlett ask that a retreat on inner healing will be of much benefit to those who attend. Thank God for the steady growth of the church in Sopocachi, La Paz, and pray for the ministries of pastoral assistants Martin Flores and Ronald Irene.

Day 9: Raphael and Michelle Samuel in Santa Cruz: thank God for the Alpha course and pray for the follow-up, that those that took part may deepen their faith in Jesus. Latin partners Frederico and Rosa Buscunan and family praise God for a new cell group, which has grown to 50 members. Pray for guidance as to its becoming a daughter church.

BRAZIL

Day 10: Bishop Jubal and Eleci Neves in SW Brazil and Rev. Abimael Rodrigues moving to Livramento while his family remain in Belem for the time being. Di Tamaki working as a catechist and taking care of the family while her husband Tomio works in Japan.

Day 11: Bishop Sebastiao and Pelotas diocese: pray for increased growth in finances to help the social work that has few resources. Remember Miriam Post as she prepares to hand over the work, that she would quickly settle back home having served in Brazil for 11 years. Pray for the diocese of Brasilia and especially pastors Bras de Costa and Hugo Sanchez.

Dayl2: Bishop Robinson and Miriam Cavalcanti and the diocese of Recife, for healing in relationships following the recent difficulties. lan Meldrum and Simea: pray for the work at Emmanuel Church in Olinda. Marcus and Tamara Throup thank God for the new Living Waters church building, and ask prayer as Marcus takes on extra responsibility this month. Vera Nascimento is seeking God's guidance in prioritizing her work. Thank God that her health is much improved.

CANADA

Day 13: Continue to keep the Board of Directors in your prayers, remembering especially those who have undertaken new positions in SAMS, that God will guide then in their work for Him.

Day 14: Pray for the Church in Canada, that it will become more aware of and knowledgeable about mission here and beyond our borders and that those whom God is calling to specific areas will respond to that call. Pray for the upcoming SAMS Fest, that it will draw and inform many to a greater involvement in mission.

Day 15: Remember the staff of SAMS Canada with their daily responsibilities -Arlene Heale, Eileen Cunningham, Frank Johnston-Main and Brian Fotherby.

CHILE

Day 16: Bishop Tito and Miriam Zavala: pray especially for the development of theological education in the diocese. Bishop and Patricia Apeleo: 'We are encouraged about the life of the church, but ask for prayer on the political conflict between groups of Mapuches and their neighbours which has distracted the life of some of the Mapuche churches.'

Day 17: Tim and Peti Webster, praying for God's continued financial provision and for the Webster's evangelism efforts. Alf and Hilary Cooper in Santiago thank God for the new church plant in Canta Gallo. The first service on Palm Sunday saw 150 present.

Day 18: Retired Bishop lan and Marion Morrison in Concepcion thank God for the new church plant in Calleo. Regional director Pastor Ciro Cid, 'with two tumors growing in his brain, manages faithfully to visit the different congregations on Sundays and lead communion services as he is able. We praise God for dedicated and faithful lay leaders.' Pray for Paul and Soledad Inman teaching SEAN Bible study courses.

HONDURAS

Day 19: In the El Paraiso Deanery, pray for Dean Dagoberto Chacon,  and for the team of national pastors. Pray for the men's and women's programs that are beginning to develop in the various communities, and for the work of Alejandro Cirinos, Rafael Chavez and Hilda Lagos.and SAMS US missionary Rene Crow.

Day 20: Remember Kara and Nelson Mejia as they resume their work in Honduras and pray for their health. Pray for the new members of their two parishes, and that they will be successful in acquiring the land needed for building a new church building in Talanga.

ECUADOR

Day 21: Simeon and Catherine Mitton, Emily and their foster children: pray for strength, love and patience. Jill Ball, a special needs teacher working at Orphaids with children of parents of AIDS: pray for sensitivity and Christ's love to show in all she does.

PARAGUAY

Day 22: Bishop John and Judie Ellison, praying for wise coordination of visits by individuals and groups through September and guidance from the Holy Spirit for the church about its nature and purpose. Pray for safety in travel on the long treacherous roads. Pray for Assistant Bishop Andres and Estela Rodrigues' ministry in Concepcion and for the pastoral group working alongside Bishop Andres. Pray too for the new government of Paraguay.

Day 23: St. Andrew's School head Gwen Carlisle and her deputy Mags Southern, that the Lord would guide the school through the economic crisis. Also for the various activities taking place to mark the school's 40th anniversary. For Victor Santa Cruz and teachers in the Annexe school as they help children maintain commitment to the Lord. Pray for teachers Murray and Penny Metcaife and for the 'Life Worth Living' course and for Stephen and Eileen Trew, and for their witness to parents and pupils.

Day 24: Beryl Baker has a heavy workload with more and more indigenous TB patients, as she travels with them to hospital in Asuncion. Pray too for Chris Hawksbee in all his travel to the Chaco and his development work and for his wife Alison in Asuncion. Tony and Chris Somervell ask prayer for healing for several members of Villa Guarani Church, and for guidance as they coordinate the next Marriage Encounter.

Day 25: Thank God for financial support received this year for the stipends of three translators. Pray for Tim Curtis coordinating the start of the translation of the Old Testament into Exnet. Claire Holmes thanks God for her many contacts with children, and through them with their homes and families—- 'Pray for good discipleship following the evangelistic campaign this year.' Pray also for volunteer Alison Crawford.

PERU

Day 26: Bishop William and Judith Godfrey and for the diocese, that God would give vision for the future and unity amongst tremendously varied congregations. Regional Director Alejandro Mesco and Doris worshiping in Belaunde—-'Pray for the Lord to guide us in everything and give us strength that we give our best to God in our ministries.'

Day 27: Garth and Denise Neel, giving thanks that 'Mision San Mateo' continues to develop and grow and for the dozen young people who are now helping with the music. Pray for the Neels as they try to 'help those who live around the school (the congregation meets in a school owned and run by the Diocese of Peru) especially who are in deepest need.' Remember the president of Peru, Alejandro Toledo, dealing with nation-wide strikes and a recent earth tremor in Lima.

Day 28: Julio and Norma Montoya in all their projects, seeking to give practical help in the communities alongside their many pastoral duties. Alison Hawksley teaching English at San Lucas school and helping at the children's home.

Day 29: Juan Carlos and Penny Marces  give thanks that the young people are taking responsibility for the youth group "Lion of Judah" in Jesus the Saviour church. Pray for the new youngsters attending. Deacon Juan Rivera who has taken charge of Christ the Redeemer church, praying that the Lord would guide him and that the congregation might work in unity.

URUGUAY

Day 30: Bishop Miguel and Martha Tamayo and Episcopal Assistant Alejandro Manzoni as they seek to lead the church forward in holistic mission. Gonzalo and Leticia Soria thank God for the new community in Tacuarembo, and ask prayer 'that we would daily be an instrument in God's hands.' Steve and Heather Carter ask prayer for more workers in God's ministry in Uruguay, support for the work among the deaf, and a new home for the church.

SAMS UK

Day 31: General Secretary Canon John Sutton calls on us to pray for wisdom to discern God's direction for SAMS, a united and harmonious team to excite people about Latin America and Iberia and for stamina! Thank God for the many volunteers who give generously of their time for SAMS.
